Real Wedding: Amanda + Ryan by Mel Nocks Photography

Three real weddings today! Yep, one from each Wedding 101 city! This one sent in by Mel Nocks Photography is full of gorgeousness! From the beautiful blue skies to the sunflower bouquets this wedding has so much pretty it may just put you over the edge. Proof that a simple venue doesn’t always need a lot to make it beautiful.

From Melissa: Amanda + Ryan are both proudly serving in the army, but they were surely able to show their softer side in this beautiful wedding surrounded by brightness and nature. Amanda’s sunny personality, which she hoped to convey through a yellow color palette and sunflowers all over, was certainly tried upon their arrival to Chattooga Belle Farm. Thunder and rain greeted them even after reading weather reports of perfection. The bride and groom were still as excited as ever even while the couple’s planner and the venue’s wonderful staff was trying to figure out an alternate plan for the ceremony, which was to take place in the middle of the vineyard. Never have I seen a more fascinating, changing sky. The 270° view from the barn provided a vista of the changing weather. Finally the rain yielded about 10 minutes before the ceremony started. Literally the clouds parted and golden light (and Tillman, the beloved “first child” of the couple) led Amanda and her father down the aisle. The ceremony was perfect, surrounded by love and sunflowers…they were everywhere, on the chairs, on the beautiful arbor—Kelly from Earth Blooms simply outdid herself. The couple chose to mark their unity by placing two glasses, a bottle of wine from the venue and words of their dreams for each other and their marriage in an aged wooden box, enscripted with scripture, and nailing it shut with plans to open it upon their 10th anniversary. The rustic, sunny theme continued to reveal itself at the reception through drinks served in mason jars, complimentary flip-flops for dancing, chalk board signage and an old wagon for presents. The guests were ready to party the night away and did so dancing to their favorite tunes, eating southern treats and indulging in the photobooth, complete with every prop imaginable. The night ended in an exit through sparklers and the couple aptly departed in a vintage army jeep. I felt so blessed to have experienced such a well-planned, beautifully executed wedding! Cheers to the Mr. and Mrs.!

When I saw This Trash The Dress session last week by Lane Photography, I was captivated by the natural setting, the horse, the stunning yellow fields, and a very lovely couple. Here is what Scott, with Lane Photography, had to say:

It has been almost a year and a half since the last time I saw Erin and Blake, which was on their wedding day.  Erin and I had talked a while about doing a Trash the Dress session, well the day finally arrived. Read more…
