{Friday DIY} Cupcake Liner Backdrop

Posted by Lindsey

I came across this DIY the other day and immediately put it in the cue to share with you. It’s a little time consuming but what an impact it will make! Use it for your ceremony backdrop and then move it (or just make two) for the photo booth backdrop at your reception! I seem to be on a bit of a backdrop kick so if there’s anything you’re looking for in particular, leave us a comment and I’ll sleuth it out for you and share it here.

Here’s what you’ll need:

HeyLook has the full tutorial. They attach their small version to a piece of paper but that’s probably not the best way to use this as a backdrop.  If you go the large cardboard route, you can zip-tie the cardboard to a pipe set up you can rent from your local rental company. That would be my pick but if you really want a solid piece then the plywood would be more sturdy. I suggest building a stand for the plywood out of some 2x4s. If you’re not sure how to do this, ask a relative who’s really good a building things that way, it won’t be a safety concern.

HeyLook also has a ton of other ideas on how to use cupcake liners for decor so be sure to go check it out.

We’re serving up another fabulous Friday DIY for you today. Yesterday, I was running errands and popped into Pottery Barn. On my way out I picked up a Pottery Barn Kids catalog. I don’t have children but I love seeing all the decor ideas. While waiting for my car to be detailed I opened up the first page and fell in love. Granted this is an Easter display but just imagine this for your alter backdrop at an outdoor wedding, put it behind the cake table, or even use it as a photo booth backdrop. The options are endless!
